Frequently Asked Questions
What is a solar site survey and what does it comprise?
At Finulent Solutions, a solar site survey is a thorough technical evaluation that precedes system design and installation. Our survey involves onsite inspection, electrical survey for solar, inverter location survey, solar shading analysis, structural integrity inspection, wind load determination for solar panels, and a professional solar survey report.
What does a solar site survey cost in the UK?
The cost of the solar site survey varies according to project size and complexity. At Finulent, we offer a transparent and competitive solar survey quotation initially, so you know exactly how much to budget for your renewable energy installation.
How long does a solar site survey take?
At Finulent, a residential survey usually takes 2-4 hours, while a commercial survey can extend to a full working day or more depending on the building size, roof type, and compliance checks required. Our goal is to complete the survey efficiently without compromising accuracy, so that your project proceeds smoothly through design and detailed design packages stages.
Why is G98/G99 compliance included in solar electrical survey?
In the UK, grid-connected solar systems are required to comply with G98/G99. During our electrical survey for solar, Finulent's engineers check for grid interconnectability feasibility, inverter details, and load capability.
Do you also offer post-installation solar site surveys?
Yes. Finulent completes a post-installation commissioning survey to ensure that all the components are installed to design spec and regulatory requirements. Visual inspections, electrical testing, inverter synchronization, and performance checks of monitoring systems or BESS (where applicable) are all completed.
